Playground "Morinos" in Mino City, Gifu Prefecture. This time it will be held in Takayama City.

After graduating in 2003 as a first-year student at the Forest Culture Academy, the guest this time, Yoko Yoshizane, moved to Hida to guide nature while cultivating the fields herself, and the food culture that remains in the area. We are also working on inheriting handicrafts.
The main field of the guide is the Prefectural Tensei Nature Park. Although it is closed to snow for half a year, it is a natural park full of attractions such as skunk cabbage in the marsh and large wig trees. Makoto Yoshi is a director of the Guide Association that guides the nature of Kita Hida.

The venue this time is "Murahan", which opened in July last year after renovating the large-scale townhouse "Old Murata House" in the old townscape of Takayama City. This is a base facility in the city that has been renovated and maintained by Takayama City to promote regional revitalization by young people.
Murahan, which opened in July 2020, is a cozy place where high school students come in saying "I'm home" when they leave school and the staff welcomes them "Welcome back". It is attracting attention as a "third place" = a third place, neither at home nor at school.

In addition, we will introduce morinos and the Forest Culture Academy to young people and high school students in the Hida area who are not usually publicized!
This is an opportunity for graduates to directly hear the appeal of "a vocational school that trains specialists involved in forests and trees."

Why don't you think about the charm of Hida, living close to nature, living and living in your own way at "Murahan" which opened at the same time as morinos?

[Lecturer profile]

Yoko Yoshizane
Director / Secretariat of NPO Hida City / Shirakawago Nature Guide Association

Born in Gifu prefecture, she grew up in Gifu prefecture. She entered the Gifu Prefectural Forest Culture Academy in 2001.
After she graduated, she moved to Kawai-mura, Yoshiki-gun (Kawai-cho, Hida-shi), and since then she has been involved in the conservation and conservation of the Prefectural Tensei Nature Park.
In 2018, she opened a rice cake shop with a special material for winter only under the name of "Koubou Sunaka".
She connects people with nature and forests, and is always delusional that the countryside will be healthy.
She is a guide and has two children, for the time being, a mother.

[Message from the instructor to young people in the Hida area]
The attraction of Hida is that the surrounding nature is very rich. For example, at night, the starry sky that seems to be swallowed can be seen from between the mountains. The pleasant sound of the murmuring flowing through the waterways.
It is also attractive that the "season" overflows on the table and you can feel the sense of the season on your skin. In autumn, natural mushrooms can be harvested if you go to the mountains, and river fish can be found on the table if you fish in a nearby river. Winter is a world of silver.
There are many things in the urban area that are not in the countryside of Hida. However, because "there is nothing extra", the wisdom and technology to devise and use familiar things have been cultivated and inherited. At the same time, there is a sense of awe for nature, gratitude for our ancestors, and a spirit of valuing connections and relationships.
My dream is to become a super grandmother full of wisdom and kindness. I would like to continue to enjoy my daily life, learn from the seniors around me, and accumulate various experiences.
I would like to make it an opportunity to discover and share the new charm of Hida with young people like my own children.
